A year later.

Nearly early a year ago I photographed my first cake smash photo session and since then I’ve been hooked! It all started with my cousins asking if I could photograph her son with some cake for his first birthday. We decide to use her backyard for an outdoor photo shoot. The session started with capturing some beautiful non-cake portraits first and we saved the messy part for the end. The photos turned out great and the session was a lot of fun, not just for the baby but for me too!

Over the course of the last few months I’ve had the pleasure to document and celebrate lots adorable babies celebrating their first birthdays!

For those of you who may not know what I mean by a “Cake Smash” it’s a photo shoot to celebrate and document your baby’s first birthday. Essentially we place a cake in front of your baby and then click away while they experience the fun and excitement of using their hand, mouth and even feet to explore it.

I don’t know how and where the styled “Cake Smash” photo shoot started but I do know that they are absolutely one of the most fun types of photo shoots I do and the photos are completely adorable.
