Circus Theme Cake Smash – Just clownin’ around!

When we received a call for a circus theme cake smash we were so excited! Before every cake smash session we coordinate with parents and plan a colour scheme for the set.  In general I prefer to keep sessions simple. Once in awhile it’s great to set out of my comfort zone. When baby L’s mom contacted us about doing a circus theme cake smash we decided to create a custom set for them. Baby L’s mom sent us pictures of the two outfits she had for her baby boy’s circus theme birthday party. An adorable ring master outfit complete with a top hat and a cute colourful clown outfit. This was our inspiration for the customized set.

We created the classic red and white tent background with construction paper and lots of tape. Baby L’s mom also brought in the most adorable circus theme cake for him to smash.  We strive to keep the baby the main focus so halfway through the shoot we put the tent off to the side of the background. We haven’t had a circus theme cake smash before so we were just excited as his parents were! Maybe even more :)!
Lucas is an incredibly happy baby. Our photoshoot with was so much fun with lots of smiles from Baby L, mom, dad and us! We all had so much fun together.
