The formal gardens are named after composer Alexander Muir, who wrote ‘Maple Leaf Forever’ in 1867. The park was constructed around this song. The maple leaf influence is clear throughout the gardens. Both in a natural form, and in man made decoration, which honours the composer.

The park is centrally located just south of Lawrence, and east of Yonge. It’s a convenient location since it is a short walk from Lawrence subway station. This makes it an easily accessible location for anyone in the Greater Toronto Area.

The gardens include walking trails to various ravines and gardens of lavender and roses. This park makes for the perfect setting for a family photo session. There is plenty of beautiful backgrounds for photos. Including gateways, forestry, gardens, and walking paths. This provides variety with landscaping and backdrop for the photos. One of the most popular features is the stone monument wall. Luckily, these locations are all in a short walking distance once inside the garden. So you won’t need to worry about tiring out your family to get a variety of shots.

The landscape this is a great place to take photos with natural lighting, no matter what time of day you decide to do the photo session. It’s a great place to just let your children run around and enjoy themselves, while you let us capture these candid moments between your family.
