Why High tea?

Tea with the Clauses is a unique experience because they interact with your kids! You get to spend more one-on-one time compared to a few minutes you get while getting photos done at your mall. You also still receive a beautiful souvenir photo of your child or children with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

There are many different versions of how Victoria Tea/High Tea/English Tea etiquette came about. But we do know for fact that it originated in the early 1800’s, and always had a sophisticated background to it. In some accounts, it originated by a Portuguese princess marrying an english prince. Some say she brought her love of tea along with her. She then started inviting her maidens into her room early in the morning and they lounged while drinking tea.

There’s also different types of High Tea nowadays including traditional, modern, and basic. Traditional high tea is old-fashioned, classic and where you can see people wearing white gloves. Modern high tea is the full tea service with savoury foods, sweets, and scones but in a less formal setting. And basic high tea is casual, where you can opt for just pastries and tea.

Regardless of the origins, it is an exciting opportunity to dress up in your fanciest clothes and have some tea. The only way High Tea could be better is by inviting your whole family and Santa and Mrs. Claus!
