First birthday ideas.

When it comes to planning your baby’s first birthday there are endless options to choose from and a variety of first birthday ideas to choose from. A recent client was planning a circus theme for her son’s 1st birthday party so we decided that would make a great theme for his cake smash photos as well.
After talking with her about the various ways we could incorporate some circus elements I decided a small tent was just what we needed. Although I’m not a very crafty person, this tent was very simple to create. I searched online for images of circus tents and planned out the supplies I needed. I purchased some red, white and blue construction paper, scissors and glue and I was set. In total it took less then 30mins to complete and is an easy project to consider if you are planning a circus theme for your baby.

The circus tent adds just the right amount of interest without overpowering the photographs. It’s very important to us that the baby is always the main focus of the photograph; after all they are the star of the show and the whole reason for the session.

This special little guy is the first grandbaby in the family and was joined by many of his family members who enjoyed watching him explore and taste his cake for the first time. He had a great session but didn’t really like the feel of getting his hands covered in icing so mama had to keep cleaning them so he could go back for more.
